MORCOM TOWNSHIP, Minn. — The St. Louis County Juvenile District Court charged Charlize R. Bjorhus, 16, for attempted second-degree murder in the shooting of her mother, Stephanie L. Straw, on Tuesday.
The county attorney's office also filed a motion to certify Bjorhus as an adult.

According to a news release from the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, Straw was transported to a Duluth hospital for medical treatment. The release said she was in stable condition Sunday but did not provide an update on her condition.
Deputies found Bjorhus near a car stuck in a ditch around 2 miles north of where the shooting allegedly occurred.
She is being held at the Arrowhead Juvenile Center in Duluth and was scheduled to appear in court on the charges on Tuesday.
Officials said the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident with no other suspects involved.
