ST. CLOUD — Former President Donald Trump and U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance, the Republican nominees for president and vice president, will be in St. Cloud today for a campaign rally.

The event will be at Herb Brooks National Hockey Center, 1204 Fourth Ave S. on the St. Cloud State University campus.

Doors for the event open at 3 p.m. today, with the event expected to begin at 7 p.m.

with a limit of two tickets per phone number. The free event is first-come, first-served, and entry to the event is not guaranteed.

The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures above 90 degrees, with heat indexes reaching 99.

Security

The St. Cloud Police Department, Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol are coordinating with the U.S. Secret Service on security at and around the event.

Several area law enforcement agencies will be working to maintain public safety during the political rally on Saturday, July 27.

Traffic

Several streets in St. Cloud are closed or limited due to construction, most notably over the Mississippi River and to 15th Avenue SE on the Sherburne County side.

Trump is expected to fly into St. Cloud Regional Airport, officials said.

Expect more streets to be closed — and parking limited — as the city adjusts to Secret Service logistics today.

Protest

The Benton/Stearns County Progressives group plans a protest against the Trump/Vance rally along Division Street near the St. Cloud public library and 12th Street from 6 to 6:45 p.m. today. They plan to rally on the steps of the Stearns County Courthouse from about 7 to 8 p.m.

The protest will be in downtown St. Cloud and end with a rally on the steps of the Stearns County Courthouse.
