Cornhole tournament at Babe’s Burnout Car Show to support United Way Disaster Relief fund

BEMIDJI — The Babe's Burnout cornhole tournament set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, at the Sanford Center, will raise funds for the United Way of Bemidji Area's Disaster Relief Fund.

All proceeds from the tournament beyond the $1,000 in cash payouts will go directly to the fund, which provides immediate assistance to families and nonprofits affected by storm damage, a release said.

In addition to tournament proceeds, 50% of all event proceeds from Babe’s Burnout Car Show and 100% of donations will also be given to the Disaster Relief Fund, further supporting recovery efforts in the community.

The Sanford Center is set to host its third annual Babe's Burnout Car Show from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, at the Sanford Center parking lot.

"The tournament offers a fun, competitive way to support local disaster recovery efforts following recent severe storms," said the release.

Check-in and practice for the tournament starts at 10 a.m. with bags flying at 11 a.m. Teams can enter for $50, and all teams are guaranteed at least two games in a double elimination format, including both a main and consolation bracket.

Cash prizes include $400 for first place in the main bracket, with additional payouts for second through fourth place, and winnings for the top two teams in the consolation bracket.
