Tim Speier

Tim Speier joined the Brainerd Dispatch in October 2021, covering Public Safety.

Speier grew up in Livonia, Michigan, around the Detroit area. He graduated from Churchill High ÍáÍáÂþ»­ and went on to join the U.S. Marines in 2004. After the Marines, he went to Wyotech and worked as a diesel mechanic around the country. Moving to Minnesota, Speier studied marketing at St. Cloud State University.

Prior to coming to the Dispatch, he worked as a student journalist for The University Chronicle and also worked as a freelance journalist for the Sauk Rapid Herald, the Albany Enterprise and West Central Tribune.
