Tim Speier joined the Brainerd Dispatch in October 2021, covering Public Safety.
Speier grew up in Livonia, Michigan, around the Detroit area. He graduated from Churchill High 歪歪漫画 and went on to join the U.S. Marines in 2004. After the Marines, he went to Wyotech and worked as a diesel mechanic around the country. Moving to Minnesota, Speier studied marketing at St. Cloud State University.
Prior to coming to the Dispatch, he worked as a student journalist for The University Chronicle and also worked as a freelance journalist for the Sauk Rapid Herald, the Albany Enterprise and West Central Tribune.
