BEMIDJI – The Lumberjack batters couldn’t quite keep up with Sartell on Friday evening.
The Sabres put up 22 runs on the Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ» softball team, winning the doubleheader at the BHS softball field by scores of 12-7 and 10-5.

Tied 0-0 through the first two innings in game one, Sartell broke open the scoring with four runs in the top of the third and tacked on another two in the fourth for a 6-0 lead.
Though Bemidji tallied seven runs through the final three innings, the Sabres added six more security runs to close out the win.
Sammy Nistler led the Jacks in game one with a pair of hits as well as two RBIs.
Sartell-Saint Stephen set the tone much quicker in game two, scoring five runs in the bottom of the first for a quick lead. Bemidji notched two runs in the fourth and another two in the fifth, officially knotting things up at 5-5 in the top of the sixth with one more run.
However, Sartell responded with a five-run sixth to retake the lead, shutting out Bemidji in the seventh for the win.
Nistler put up another two-hit performance in game two, while Karley LaZella and Clara Sherwood led the way in RBIs with two apiece.
