CLOQUET – Big innings were on the menu, but not in the way the Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ» softball team had hoped.
In a battle of the Lumberjacks, Cloquet got the better of BHS by a score of 10-5. It did it behind three multi-run frames. Cloquet scored three in the first inning, four in the third and two in the sixth to hang on to a five-run triumph.

Karley LaZella was 3 for 3 at the plate with a double and a home run. She also allowed four earned runs on four hits with five walks and a strikeout. Ridley Hadrava relieved her after 2 1/3 innings. Hadrava also had a double in a 1 for 3 day.
Bemidji scored twice in the second inning when Olivia Birth and Matjea Malterud scored via an error. Hayden Dahl also scored a run in the fifth on a wild pitch.
Allie Jones picked up the win for Cloquet. She threw seven innings and allowed three earned runs on five hits and three walks. She also struck out seven Bemidji batters.
