As we head into the first week of July, fishing is holding up quite well throughout the Bemidji area. Look for walleyes along the deeper weed edges in 12-18 feet.
For some lakes, the walleye bite has been slower. However, on other lakes, it continues to be very good. Look to Lakes Bemidji, Plantaganet, Andrusia and Blackduck for some decent walleye action.
Similar in appearance and song to one another, yet occupying different habitats where their ranges overlap, wrens of all species far and wide are fascinating feathered bundles of energy.
The investigation to determine who shot the mother bear is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Turn in Poachers (TIP) hotline at (800) 652-9093 or #TIP on a cellphone.
