CLERMONT, FLA. – Less than two months into the 2025 softball season, the Beavers have already matched their win total from a year ago.

Bemidji State picked up eight wins at the Spring Games in Clermont, Florida from March 6 to March 14. That strong showing brought BSU to 13 total wins this season, the same amount of victories it earned throughout the entire 2024 campaign.

Perhaps the most impressive win of the Spring Games came on March 13. The Beavers defeated No. 16 Indianapolis 1-0 behind a stellar showing from freshman Kennedy Joachim, who pitched seven innings, notched 10 strikeouts, gave up one walk and allowed just four hits and no runs.

That win marked the Beavers’ first against a ranked opponent since March 21, 2021, when they defeated No. 9 Rogers State in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Bemidji State started the Spring Games off strong, defeating Ashland 4-3 and Staten Island 11-7 on March 6. BSU went 1-1 the following day, suffering a 4-1 loss to West Virginia Wesleyan before defeating Clarion 7-1.

On Saturday, March 8, the Beavers dropped a tight 3-2 loss to Indiana University of Pennsylvania and came out on top against Glenville State 4-3 in an eight-inning battle.

Returning to play on Monday, March 10, BSU lost 2-1 to Northwood. Tuesday started off with an 8-4 loss to Bentley, but Bemidji State bounced back with a 13-8 win over Lake Erie.

Thursday, March 13 featured two wins for the Beavers: a 9-1 victory over Queens and the aforementioned 1-0 result against No. 16 Indianapolis.

Bemidji State finished the tournament on Friday with a pair of losses. Emporia State defeated the Beavers 2-0 and Saint Martins handed them a 6-0 loss
