Murder-suicide suspected after 2 found dead in central Minnesota home

BATTLE LAKE, Minn. — A 59-year-old man and 58-year-old woman found dead in a rural Battle Lake home are believed to have died from a murder-suicide, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office.

At 2:24 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, the sheriff's office was dispatched to the home where the two people were found dead.

"The Sheriff's Office believes it to be an isolated incident and there is no known threat to the public," the sheriff's office said in a statement.

The sheriff's office is investigating the deaths with help from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Midwest Medical Examiners Office in Ramsey, Minnesota.

Authorities did not make other details public, including the names of the man and woman found dead or the exact address of the home.
Battle Lake is about 20 miles east of Fergus Falls.
