ST. PAUL 鈥� A fourth child has died after a fire at his family鈥檚 St. Paul home last week, an official said Monday, Jan. 8.

Muaj Cag Txuj Vang was 18 months old. He passed away Saturday evening, according to information police received from the Ramsey County medical examiner鈥檚 office.

His sister, Ntshiab Siv Vang, 5, and brother, Muaj Tshav Ntuj Vang, 4, died Friday. Ntshiab鈥檚 twin sister, Siv Ntshiab Vang, died on Wednesday, Jan. 3.

Two family spokespeople provided the spellings of the children鈥檚 names Monday, which varied slightly from information that police received from the medical examiner鈥檚 office.

Pa Cheng Vang鈥檚 wife, Ker Lor, and their two other children 鈥� a 2-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy 鈥� were critically injured in the fire in their Payne-Phalen home, and they remain hospitalized.

Vang was at work when the fire started about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3.

The fire department said the fire on Arkwright Street near Maryland Avenue was accidental and the cause will be included in a final report, which hasn鈥檛 been completed.

There were working smoke detectors in the home, but the occupants were likely unable to escape because of the location of the fire on the first floor and because one adult was alone with six children, the fire department said last week.
