Couple found dead in rural Wadena died in murder-suicide, police say

A 25-year-old man shot and killed his 25-year-old wife, then took his own life, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office said.

WADENA, Minn. — Two people who were found dead inside a rural Wadena home Friday, April 29, died in a murder-suicide, police said Monday.

Otter Tail County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of two people found dead at a home in Compton Township in rural Wadena at about 8:40 p.m., according to the sheriff's office.

Autopsies and an investigation in partnership with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension determined the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide. Twenty-five-year-old Isaac Malone killed his wife, Ariel Malone, also 25, then took his own life, the sheriff's office said.
