Authorities ID 19-year-old who died of possible overdose in west-central Minnesota

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office reported that the death of Samantha Myers, 19, of Pennock, is being investigated as a possible overdose of a suspected illegal narcotic substance.

— The 19-year-old whose death is being investigated as a possible overdose from a suspected illegal narcotic has been identified as Samantha Myers of Pennock, Minn., according to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office had responded to a report at 10:43 p.m. Saturday of an unconscious 19-year-old female at a residence along the 20100 block of Highway 9 Northeast near New London. Emergency medical services were also dispatched. The female was later determined to be deceased.

An investigation into the death was started with a possible cause of death being related to the overdose from a suspected illegal narcotic. The victim was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Ramsey.

This case remains under investigation.
