Road resurfacing set to begin Sept. 9 on Highway 2 in Cass Lake

Motorists should expect lane closures and delays as crews work to improve the roadway, with project completion anticipated by late September.

BEMIDJI— A resurfacing project on U.S. Highway 2 in Cass Lake is set to begin Monday, Sept. 9, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The focus of the project is to improve the road surface and enhance accessibility features. The construction zone will stretch from east of State Highway 371 to Cass County Road 206 and will include flaggers who will direct traffic through the construction zone.

The $677,000 project, led by Hawkinson Construction, is expected to be completed by late September and will include upgrades to sidewalks and curb ramps at Grant Utley Avenue and Maple Avenue.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and expect delays in the work zone.
