Bemidji City Council to hold public hearing on 2024 street renewal project

The Bemidji City Council will also consider a resolution approving the final layout for MnDOT's State Highway 197 project during its meeting tonight.

BEMIDJI — The Bemidji City Council is set to consider a resolution approving the final layout for the Minnesota Department of Tranporation's State Highway 197 project during its meeting tonight.

The council held a public hearing at its Sept. 16 meeting about the project, which aims to improve safety and traffic flow along the Highway 197 corridor with features like roundabouts, intersection realignments and multi-use paths.

With about 30% of the plans complete at the time of the hearing, the council voted to postpone approval of the project until more information could be presented.

The council will also conduct a public hearing on proposed assessments for the 2024 street renewal project and will discuss the allocation of ARPA funds.
