Funding can be used for damage repairs; replacement of damaged or lost equipment or materials; rent or mortgage support; utilities; food; transportation; medicine; family member care; monthly bills; and other needs as approved. The grants cannot be used for student loan payments, tuition costs or classes.

Grants are open to artists who are Minnesota residents 18 years or older who live in Beltrami, Clearwater, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen and Hubbard counties, or who are enrolled tribal members and descendants living in Itasca, Roseau, Cass and Becker Counties.

All eligible applicants must have lost income or experienced damage to property related to their creative practice, the release added.

The maximum award is $500 and the grant application will remain open until funding is exhausted.

Artists who have received grant funds from the Region 2 Arts Council in the past and have overdue final reports for those grant funds may complete their final reports to become eligible for the Good Relative Relief Grant.

Other times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
