GRAND FORKS-The UND women's basketball program's 2019 recruiting class added one of the best players in northwest Minnesota late Monday night, July 16.

Borowicz averaged 26.5 points and 6.5 rebounds for the 26-6 Rams, who won their fourth consecutive section title and finished runner-up at the Minnesota state tournament last year.

Borowicz, who also added 4.2 assists and 3.9 steals per game, is a two-time all-state pick after being named honorable mention as a freshman.

She has 2,740 career points.

"I like that it's close to home," Borowicz said. "I have a huge support system from my family and they can come watch me and be close."

Borowicz said it was a difficult decision to pick UND. She also heavily considered Minnesota State Moorhead, where her older sister Kiley was a freshman last season. Their mother also went to Moorhead.

Kiley was a three-time all-state selection for the Rams. She was the Dragons' top sub last season, averaging more than 7 points per game.

Borowicz is the seventh member of UND's 2019 recruiting class.

Kacie and Kiley also have a younger sister, Katie, a sophomore who was also an all-state pick last year.
