Warriors clamp down in 2nd half to defeat Lumberjacks

The Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ»­ boys basketball team suffered a road loss to Brainerd thanks to an improved second-half effort from the hosts.

BRAINERD — The Lumberjacks entered halftime with a slight 36-34 lead over Brainerd on Saturday afternoon.

But in the second half, the hosting Warriors defense stiffened up. Brainerd outscored the Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ»­ boys basketball team 36-26 in the second frame to secure a 70-62 victory.

Jaxon Boschee earned a team-high 25 points for the Jacks. Charlie Zellmann and Austin Riewer were next up in the scoring column, collecting 10 points apiece.

Jeron Huseby scored seven points, Kobe Brown notched six and Hudson Pink and Rhys Sneide tallied two apiece to round out the scoring for the Lumberjacks.
