The boys 4x800 relay of Bryce Kondos, Isaak McDonald, Brooks Matetich and Paul Louvar just missed the cut, finishing .09 seconds behind second-place Brainerd to take third place in 8:07.01. It was a similar story for the boys 4x400 team of Seth Newby, McDonald, Louvar and Matetich, which took third with a time of 3:28.05, only .18 seconds back of Moorhead.

β€I just feel bad for the kids,β€ boys head coach Steve Sniede said. β€They worked really hard. Especially that 4x400, they ran amazing today. I mean, they were flying, and it just wasn't quite fast enough. This section is insanely difficult. There's so many good teams that we had our A-game in the 4x4 and it just wasn't quite enough. And same thing with the 4x800. (But) we had a lot of PRs today, and you can't be upset about that.β€

As a team, the Bemidji boys finished eighth of eight teams with 34 team points. Moorhead (167), St. Michael-Albertville (161.5) and Brainerd (98) took the top three spots.
