Lumberjacks pepper 17 shots on goal in win over Pelican Rapids

PELICAN RAPIDS – Pelican Rapids goaltender Ivan Franco had his work cut out for him on Tuesday against the Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ»­ boys soccer team.

The Lumberjacks pelted the Vikings’ goal for 17 shots, with 16 of them being stopped by Franco. The only one he let get by him came off the foot of Isaac Stone. In the 49th minute, Stone buried a pass from Al Toward to give BHS a 1-0 lead, which held for the final score.

Kellen Heuer stopped his only shot on goal for the win. The Jacks improved to 8-2-3, going unbeaten in their last eight matches. Isaac Stone now has 17 goals this fall.
