THIEF RIVER FALLS — Six first-place wrestlers and seven top-seven finishes.
In a Saturday afternoon full of first-place finishes and other solid performances, the Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ» boys team finished with 252 team points, comfortably earning the top spot at the Minnesota Army National Guard Prowler Invite in Thief River Falls.

Oscars Hanks notched a first-place finish competing at the 106-pound weight class, pinning Landon Schiffler of Minnewaska in 3:26 in the first-place match after topping his opponents in the quarterfinal and semifinal by fall.
Casey Sisneros placed first at 121, collecting a victory by a 15-4 major decision over Miles Wildman of Minnewaska to end the night. To get there, he beat Cleighton Hoban (Mahnomen-Waubun) by technical fall and Brian Berg (Thief River Falls) in a 9-1 major decision.
At 127, Gabe Morin made it to the championship match and took home first by defeating Drew Rasch (Fertile-Beltrami) by fall in 5:05. He defeated Meryk Ullman (Roseau) by technical fall in round one, Aiden Holmberg (Balckduck/Cass Lake-Bena) in the quarterfinals by technical fall and Kendall Booker (All Saints Home ÍáÍáÂþ») in the semifinals by a 4-0 decision.
Gavin Osborn was the last one standing at 133, besting Chase Smith (Minnewaska) by a 5-1 decision. En route to the championship round, he won by techincal fall over Owen Lund (Badger-Greenbush-Middle River) in the quarterfinal and defeated Ian Phrakonkham (Bagley/Fosston) by 6-2 decision in the semifinal.
Nick Strand dominated the 139-pound weight class, finishing off his impressive day by pinning Shane Thompson of Bagley/Fosston in 2:21 in the first-place match. His wins in the quarterfinal and semifinal both came by fall.
Alec Newby (160) won by technical fall over Landon Petron of Grand Forks Central in the first-place match after pinning Weston McKay (Crosby-Ironton) in 2:21 in the quarterfinal and beating Tanner Schulke (Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale/Parkers Prairie) by 18-5 major decision.
The Jacks also had four wrestlers collect third-place finishes at the invite.

Lincoln Schmitt ended up in third competing at 145, defeating Caden Everson (Grand Forks Central) by technical fall in the third-place match. Kohen Donat captured third by defeating Logan Vorhies (GFC) in a 10-3 decision.
Ben Desrosier (215) lost in the quarterfinal and battled his way back through the consolation bracket for a place in the third-place match, where he pinned Eli Fischer (GFC) in 1:33 for bronze.
Nehemiah Schwinghammer took the same path at 285, losing in the quarterfinal before running through the consolation rounds, ending the day with a 16-2 major decision win over Braden Shamp (Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale/Parkers Prairie).
Levi Mellema (114) and Trenten Fredriksen-Holm (152) both wound up in sixth place in their respective weight classes. Thaddeus Variance (172) finished seventh.
