BRAINERD – The Bemidji cross country team competed in the Section 8-3A Preview meet in Brainerd on Friday.
The Bemidji boys took fifth place with 112 points, while the girls took seventh with 154.

Kyle Millar and Blake DeWitt paced the boys with 17th and 19th-place times of 18:17.1 and 18:19.6, respectively. William Ames was right behind him in 20th at 18:22.7. Tanner Johnson took 23rd at 18:31.0, while Sam Urban (19:04.1, 33rd), Caleb Knott (19:25.1, 35th) and William Lohse (20:11.6, 38th) also ran the varsity race.

Chloe Derby took 11th in the girls race with a time of 21:02.4. Raya Nordlund followed in 25th place at 22:42.8. Claire Story (24:41.0, 38th), Adeline Runnigen (24:42.8, 39th), Sydney Beise (25:21.2, 41st) and Brenalen Fredriksen-Holm (25:21.2, 42nd) rounded out the group.
