GIRLS SWIMMING AND DIVING: Ueland, Daman post wins for Bemidji in home tri

Ueland captured the win in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking a 1:09.60 finish. Daman contributed a first-place showing in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.82, as well.

BEMIDJI -- Marley Ueland and Abigail Daman both picked up event wins for the Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ»­ girls swimming and diving team on Saturday, and the Lumberjacks edged Detroit Lakes in the process during a home triangular at the BHS pool.

Bemidji finished with 373 points, just ahead of the Lakers’ 359. Park Rapids won the triangular with 515 points.

Ueland captured the win in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking a 1:09.60 finish. Daman contributed a first-place showing in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.82, as well.

The Ueland-Daman duo also paired with Naomi Olson and Elle Wille in the 200 medley relay, and the four posted a 2:05.89 finish for second place. Daman added an individual second-place mark with her 2:31.77 showing in the 200 IM.

The Jacks had three more third-place performances.

On the diving board, Ridley Hadrava tallied 302.85 points for bronze, while Mackenzie Raisch raced the 500 freestyle in 6:08.92. The 400 free relay team of Ryan Gaskins, Wille, Ueland and Elena Harmsen placed third in 4:15.47, as well.

BHS will next be on the road for a dual with Moorhead at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13.
