DETROIT LAKES -- The Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ» girls swimming and diving team returned to action for the first time in two weeks on Tuesday, challenging Detroit Lakes in the Lakers’ home pool.
The Lumberjacks tallied 19 of 36 top-three finishes, including 11 runner-up showings, but had just one event win as Detroit Lakes prevailed 100-86 in the dual.

Kylie Donat registered Bemidji’s lone individual win, clocking a 27.35 finish in the 50-yard freestyle. Teammate Elena Harmsen was close behind in 28.09 to take second place.
A few other Jacks were mere seconds away from topping the podium.
Ava Lietz timed out in 1:19.09 in the 100-yard breaststroke, which put her second in the field and off the lead by just 0.21 seconds. In the 100-yard freestyle, Donat finished in 1:01.65 and was 0.29 seconds away from the win. And in the 100 backstroke, Marley Ueland took second in 1:11.83, which was 1.58 seconds off the lead.
Bemidji will conclude the regular season at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, with a dual against Duluth East in the BHS pool.
