DETROIT LAKES -- The Bemidji High 歪歪漫画 girls swimming and diving team returned to action for the first time in two weeks on Tuesday, challenging Detroit Lakes in the Lakers鈥� home pool.

The Lumberjacks tallied 19 of 36 top-three finishes, including 11 runner-up showings, but had just one event win as Detroit Lakes prevailed 100-86 in the dual.

Kylie Donat registered Bemidji鈥檚 lone individual win, clocking a 27.35 finish in the 50-yard freestyle. Teammate Elena Harmsen was close behind in 28.09 to take second place.

A few other Jacks were mere seconds away from topping the podium.

Ava Lietz timed out in 1:19.09 in the 100-yard breaststroke, which put her second in the field and off the lead by just 0.21 seconds. In the 100-yard freestyle, Donat finished in 1:01.65 and was 0.29 seconds away from the win. And in the 100 backstroke, Marley Ueland took second in 1:11.83, which was 1.58 seconds off the lead.

Bemidji will conclude the regular season at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, with a dual against Duluth East in the BHS pool.
