GRAND RAPIDS -- Kiera Nelson was mighty busy on Tuesday night.

The Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ» girls soccer goalkeeper stopped nearly every ball pelted her way, as her 15 saves helped the Lumberjacks play Grand Rapids to a 1-1 draw on the road and snap the Thunderhawks’ eight-game winning streak.

Although Grand Rapids (11-3) snuck one past her in the eighth minute, Nelson’s efforts were rewarded just out of halftime. Marah Bitter scored an unassisted goal in the 45th minute, leveling the match at 1-1.

Despite a combined 26 shots on goal throughout the match, those two were the only ones to find the back of the net. Thunderhawks keeper Maggie MacLean countered Nelson’s performance with nine saves of her own.
