BEMIDJI — It was the Lumberjacks’ turn to play catch up in a 5-4 win.
The first two periods of the Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ» boys hockey team’s Saturday afternoon matchup with Sartell had been a back-and-forth battle, featuring plenty of momentum swings.

When Briggs Knott scored in the first period to give the Jacks a 1-0 lead, the Sabres netted a goal just over eight minutes later to knot things up.
When Bemidji jumped out to a 3-1 lead early in the second period with a strike from Griffin Dewar and a power-play goal from Knott, Sartell rattled off two straight power-play goals to tie up the game yet again.
When the Sabres scored less than three minutes into the final frame, it was finally up to Bemidji to come from behind.
Joey Fankhanel answered the call less than a minute later. He cashed in on an assist from Conor Stodgell for the 4-4 tie, and with four minutes remaining, Dominic Arndt scored the game-winning goal.
Bemidji's Tate Metcalf finished with 22 saves between the pipes. Adam Holien, the Sabres’ goaltender, collected 15.
