BEMIDJI – Jaxon Boschee put his best foot forward on Saturday at the BHS Gymnasium, but it wasn’t quite enough for the Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ» boys basketball team to pick up a win.
The Lumberjacks battled with Big Lake, but ultimately, the Hornets stung BHS with a 74-68 win despite Boschee’s 27-point performance.

Bemidji (6-8) led 43-41 at the half, but Big Lake (8-5) outlasted the Jacks in the final 18 minutes. Boschee scored 17 of his 27 points in the opening frame.
Braden Luksik was next up for the Lumberjacks, pouring in 13 points in a supplementary role. Austin Riewer added 10, including six in the second half.
Owen Wilczek led the Hornets with 20 points. Owen Layton and Trevor Maruska chipped in 13 apiece.
