BEMIDJI – In a rematch of last year’s Section 8AA quarterfinal, the Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ» boys hockey team reversed its fortunes.
The Lumberjacks’ season ended in Elk River last February in a 3-1 loss. On Saturday at the Bemidji Community Arena, BHS beat the Elks 4-1.

Benji O’Leary scored three of those goals. After Briggs Knott broke the scoreless tie in the first period, O’Leary netted a hat trick in the second and third periods.
Senior Noah Mannausau assisted on three of Bemidji’s four goals. It puts him at 58 career assists, which broke Rocky Copiskey’s (2013-16) unofficial program for 57 career helpers.
Will Jansen scored the lone goal for Elk River in the third period. Tate Metcalf stopped 22 shots for the Lumberjacks (16-5-2), while Gavin Greniuk made 26 saves for the Elks (10-12-2).
