Bemidji’s Jonah Weideman competes in state esports competition

BLOOMINGTON – Another Bemidji High esports competitor competed at the Wisdom Gaming Studios at the Mall of America.

Jonah Weideman qualified for the Minnesota Varsity League’s state tournament in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. He finished in 12th place out of 32 gamers on Jan. 12.

Weideman won his first three head-to-head competitions before bowing out to a player from Anoka.

“Jonah represents Bemidji High very well,” said BHS esports head coach Sarah Stewart. “I am very proud of the sportsmanship he showed throughout the finals.”
