CLOQUET – For a time, the Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ» girls soccer team was poised to seize victory on Thursday in Cloquet.
Facing off in a road matchup with Cloquet/Carlton, Bemidji got on the board first with Kaia Christopher’s goal in the 19th minute. But Cloquet/Carlton responded with three scores of its own, taking control of a 3-1 victory.

Christopher’s breakaway and subsequent toe-poke off an assist from Kate Corradi put BHS up 1-0 in the first half. But Cloquet/Carlton responded quickly, as Natalia Hernandez assisted Addison Sandman with a cross toward the six-yard box to set up the equalizer in the 26th minute.
Cloquet/Carlton continued to build in the second half. Kiley Issendorf first got involved with the game-winning goal off an assist from Makena Smith in the 43th minute. Then Issendorf did it again, scoring in the 74th minute off a setup from Hernandez.
Clara Bieber captured nine saves in goal for Bemidji. Cloquet/Carlton goalkeeper Rylee Senich saved four.
