DULUTH – Scoring first is helpful, but it doesn’t guarantee a win.
The Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ» girls soccer team learned that lesson on Saturday in Duluth. Facing off against Duluth Marshall on the road, the Lumberjacks took the early lead on a goal by Hannah Voge, but the Hilltoppers responded with two scores to seal a 2-1 victory.

Voge’s conversion came within the first 10 minutes of play, as she buried an assist from Kate Halden. DM responded quickly, though, as Nina Thorson equalized in the 15th minute.
Thorson added the game-winner in the second half, scoring in the 48th minute to put the Hilltoppers up.
Goalkeeper Clara Bieber collected four saves for Bemidji.
