Bemidji scores 1st, but Nina Thorson鈥檚 2 goals carry the day for Hilltoppers

DULUTH 鈥� Scoring first is helpful, but it doesn鈥檛 guarantee a win.

The Bemidji High 歪歪漫画 girls soccer team learned that lesson on Saturday in Duluth. Facing off against Duluth Marshall on the road, the Lumberjacks took the early lead on a goal by Hannah Voge, but the Hilltoppers responded with two scores to seal a 2-1 victory.

Voge鈥檚 conversion came within the first 10 minutes of play, as she buried an assist from Kate Halden. DM responded quickly, though, as Nina Thorson equalized in the 15th minute.

Thorson added the game-winner in the second half, scoring in the 48th minute to put the Hilltoppers up.

Goalkeeper Clara Bieber collected four saves for Bemidji.
