After dropping their first four games, the Lumberjacks got on the winning side of the ledger on Thursday in Grand Rapids, defeating the Thunderhawks 55-51.
BHS managed to carve out a slim 19-18 advantage after the first half. The second frame was also a tight affair, but the Jacks managed to score three more points and seal their first victory.
Jaxon Boschee led Bemidji with 17 points, but the Lumberjacks received supplementary scoring from many other sources. Owen Frazer (eight points), Austin Riewer (seven), Kobe Brown (six), Jeron Huseby (six), Braden Luksik (four) and Sam Gish (two) all contributed to the win for BHS.
Grand Rapids (1-4) received the bulk of its scoring from Wylee Dauenbaugh (17 points) and Morgan MacLeod-Carlson (16).
