Bemidji ekes out win over Monticello to open Delano tournament

The Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ»­ boys basketball team needed every one of its 61 points to pull out a win over Monticello on Friday.

DELANO – The Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ»­ boys basketball team needed every one of its 61 points to pull out a win over Monticello on Friday.

The Lumberjacks beat Monticello 61-59 to open the Delano holiday tournament. They were led by Jaxon Boschee, who scored 29 points to lead all scorers in the win.

Austin Riewer was the only other BHS player to eclipse double-digits with 13. Jeron Huseby had eight for the Jacks.

Bemidji took a 29-24 lead into halftime. Monticello outscored the Lumberjacks 35-32 in the second frame but couldn’t fully close the gap.
