ST. MICHAEL – One of the most accomplished Bagley/Fosston prep track careers has come to a close.
Ava Phrakonkham competed in four events at the Class A state meet at St. Michael-Albertville High حلحلآ» on Tuesday and Wednesday, notching three individual second-place finishes.

She took second in the 100-meter dash at 12.36 seconds, trailing Hills-Beaver-Creek’s Brynn Bakken (12.29). Phrakonkham also took second place in the 200 at 24.91. Bakken edged out Phrakonkham by five one-hundredths of a second.
In the long jump, Phrakonkham took second place with a personal-best jump of 18-03.5. McKyalen Lewis of Math and Sciency Academy took first (18-05.5).

Bagley/Fosston’s 4x100-meter relay qualified for finals with a fourth-place prelims time of 49.31. Ultimately, Claire Klinkhammer, Hatty Quam, Chaela Olson and Phrakonkham took ninth at 50.89.
Allison Lundin notched Northome/Kelliher/Blackduck’s best finish, taking fifth place in the girls 800 at 2:21.37. N/K/B’s Colton Connell took 13th in the boys 800 at 1:59.70.
Bagley/Fosston’s Charlie Capshaw finished in 17th place in the discus with a throw of 135-04.
The Flyers tied for fourth place with PACT/Legacy and Two Harbors in the Class A girls team standings with 31 points. Janesville Waldorf Pemberton won the team state title with 41 points.
