BEMIDJI – Saturday is shaping up to be another banner day for the Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ» girls wrestling team.

Taylor Merschman (100 pounds), Kiera Hagman-Nyagaka (112), Brenalen Fredriksen-Holm (118), Tori Bahr (130), Kylie Donat (142), Makaya Gotchie (148), Braelyn Ruport (155), Leah Willard (170), Maya Schmidt (190) and Brie Leeper (235) will all wrestle in semifinal matches.

Mateya Mistic (106), Amber Kremper (124) and Chloe Knott (136) are slated to compete in their respective consolation brackets. Each can advance to state if they win the consolation championship and have not previously wrestled the runner-up in the winner’s bracket. In that scenario, a true second-place match will take place between the two remaining wrestlers to determine which one will advance to the state tournament.

Girls wrestlers from Sections 6 and 8, including Bemidji’s, are competing for the same state bids, while representatives from Sections 5 and 7 are also wrestling at BHS for separate state berths.
