Michigan State moved up one spot to No. 3 while Boston University, after a weekend split at North Dakota, fell two spots to No. 5 in Week 5 of the USA Hockey / The Rink Live men's college hockey poll.

Undefeated Denver remains the nation's top team, earning all but one first-place vote. The Pioneers are followed by Boston College, the Spartans, Minnesota and the Terriers.

The other team to receive a first-place vote, Cornell, opens its season by hosting UND on Friday.

The Big Ten and Hockey East have six teams in the rankings, while the NCHC has five, ECAC Hockey has two and the CCHA has one.
