BEMIDJI – Bemidji State softball seniors Molly Houts and Mariah Stevenson have been named to the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Defensive Team.
Houts, a graduate student from Whittier, California, earned her second All-NSIC Defensive Team honor with this selection. She is a Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award winner, a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection and a two-time Spring NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence member.

This season, Houts marked 60 putouts with four assists and two errors for a .970 fielding percentage in right field. Included in this was a double play against Bentley during The Spring Games in March. She marked a season-high four putouts against Sioux Falls on Mar. 31.
In her career, Houts has amassed 302 putouts and 19 assists with a .970 fielding percentage. Along with her defensive success, Houts also became the program’s leader in most times hit by a pitch in her career, now with 32. She marked a .329 batting average in 146 at-bats with 48 hits, six doubles and five triples.
Stevenson finished her season seventh in the conference for assists with 103. This season, she has tallied 55 putouts, 103 assists and six errors for a career-high .963 fielding percentage. In her career, Stevenson has completed 189 putouts, 352 assists and a fielding percentage of .925. She leads the program in career assists and games played, along with being second in games started.
Stevenson is a two-time Spring NSIC All-Academic Team selection, along with a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree during her junior year
