BEMIDJI — Wednesday afternoon was a struggle for the Beavers’ batters and pitchers.
The Bemidji State baseball team suffered a pair of losses to U-Mary at the BSU Baseball Field, losing by scores of 10-1 and 12-2.

BSU had a hard time hitting against the Marauders’ starting pitcher in game one. Konnor Kirchoffner allowed just two hits and one run through six innings, issuing one walk and four strikeouts. Beau Thoma and Matt Filippi were the only Beavers who managed to end the game with a hit.
Filippi got the start, giving up four hits and five runs (two earned) through four innings.
Game two saw four different pitchers on the mound for U-Mary. Bemidji State managed eight hits this time around, but put up just two runs. Filippi led the way with two knocks and a run.
The Beavers’ also had a large number of pitchers in game two, as six different players took the mound. The pitchers allowed a combined 11 hits and 12 runs (nine earned).
