Konecne helped guide the doubles team of Shaelyn Johnson and Luzmary Diaz Castillo to a school record 16 wins. Junior Tiannah Gu matched the MSUM single-season school record for singles wins with 16.

Konecne is the first Dragon to earn coach of the year honors since 2007, and just the fourth time an MSUM coach has earned the honor.

2 Beavers receive academic honors

Bemidji State sophomores Ana Lucia Ibanez Castro and Valesca Rodriguez each earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors.

To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Along with academic requirements, the student-athletes must be in the lineup for 70% of an institution’s days of competition.
