DULUTH — The Bemidji State women's track and field team finished the season 11th overall at the NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Duluth. In this finish, the Beavers grabbed 11 top-10 finishes, five personal bests, eight season bests and two NCAA Division II rankings.
Kicking off the weekend, sophomore Mille Rosaeg competed in the women’s heptathlon where she finished eighth overall. Rosaeg found a top-five finish in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.82 seconds for a fourth-place spot to start the meet. She followed this up with sixth in the 200 meters, eighth in the long jump and ninth in the shot put.

Rosaeg also marked a personal best in the javelin throw at 27.43 meters where she finished 11th, along with finishing 11th in the high jump. Rounding out the heptathlon, she took 14th in the 800-meter run with a season-best finish of 2:48.17.
On the track, Sophie Rylance found ninth place in the women’s 800-meter preliminaries at a personal-best time of 2:15.58. Makenna Frazier took 23rd overall in the women’s 400-meter hurdles preliminaries at 1:09.69. Maggie McCarthy grabbed one of the top finishes for BSU in the 3000-meter steeplechase, marking a personal best and NCAA Division II No. 88 ranking in just under 11 minutes and 18 seconds. Ava Werner also PRed in the event with a 12:54.16 and Callie Ressler finished 26th with 13:44.85.
Rounding out the track competition for BSU, the women’s 4x400-meter relay team of Josie Aitken, Frazier, Hailey Selly and Sophie Rylance finished in 13th with a season-best time of 4:09.86.
Taking to the field events, Zayda Priebe marked a 46.29-meter discus throw, grabbing fourth place overall. Trista Bilden and Elle Bettcher followed her in 16th at 37.48m and 21st at 34.86m, respectively. Mikenna Pattrin found a strong finish in the hammer throw, taking fifth with a distance of 46.90 meters. She also landed in the top 10 in the javelin with a sixth-place finish at 38.66 meters, her best this season, and ninth in the hot put with a NCAA No. 84 ranked throw of 13.25 meters.
Bilden followed close behind in the javelin at seventh with 38.02 meters and 11.83 meters in the shot. Olivia Olson finished her final collegiate meet with a 16th-place spot in the pole vault at 3.21 meters.
As a team, the Beavers were projected to take 13th out of 14 teams with a projected eight points. Instead, the top-10 finishes by multiple student athletes earned a combined 19 points for 11th place.
