COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Oak Hills men top Leech Lake

BEMIDJI -- The Oak Hills Christian College men's basketball team picked up its first win of the season Tuesday night with a 105-101 triumph over Leech Lake Tribal College.

BEMIDJI -- The Oak Hills Christian College men’s basketball team picked up its first win of the season Tuesday night with a 105-101 triumph over Leech Lake Tribal College.

Ronnie Jackson paced the Wolfpack (1-20) with a game-high 34 points. Four other Oak Hills players reached double-digits as Duke Abalos and Michael Wolfe each added 19 points while Aiden Guthrie and Colin Tyrone chipped in 16 and 12 points, respectively.

Tristan Keah-tigh led Leech Lake with 32 points and Jordan Collins followed with 18. Ryan Jad tallied 16 points while Joe Strong and Brandon Mastea each recorded 11.

Oak Hills will host Turtle Mountain Community College for a two-game series Friday, Jan. 20, and Saturday Jan. 21. Friday’s game tips-off at 8 p.m. and Saturday’s at 2 p.m.

Wolfpack women fall to Leech Lake BEMIDJI -- The Oak Hills Christian College women’s basketball team fell to Leech Lake Tribal College 68-35 on Tuesday night.

Annika Sannes led the Wolfpack (0-5) with 14 points while Gigi Reitmeier added nine.

Oak Hills will next meet Turtle Mountain Community College for a pair of games Friday, Jan. 20 and Saturday, Jan. 21. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday.
