DULUTH – Eva Filippova got her first action this season on Friday night in the third period in relief of goaltender Kaitlin Groess.
Filippova, a sophomore, made 11 saves in an 8-1 loss. She made 37 more in her first start on Saturday.

Filippova became the fourth BSU goaltender to start a game for the Bemidji State women’s hockey team this season. She kept the Beavers (3-12-1, 2-10-0 WCHA) within striking distance in a 2-0 loss against No. 4 Minnesota Duluth at Amsoil Arena.
Tova Henderson scored on the power play in the first period for the Bulldogs (8-5-1, 7-4-1 WCHA) before Olivia Mobley made it 2-0 in the second period. Danielle Burgen, Mary Kate O’Brien and Olivia Wallin had assists.
