Twenty year old Andrew Sadek disappeared after agreeing to work with police as a confidential informant — a deal he made to avoid felony charges for allegedly selling $80 worth of marijuana to informants on his college campus.
Months later, on June 27, 2014, Sadek was discovered dead along the Red River with a gunshot wound to his head and a backpack full of rocks tied around him. Police initially called it suicide, but the autopsy was inconclusive and Sadek’s parents were adamant their son didn’t kill himself.
Instead, Tammy and John Sadek believe their son got mixed up in a dangerous situation at the hands of law enforcement. Tammy turned her anger into action, leading her to fight for reforms on how young informants are used in North Dakota.
