MORRIS, Minn. -- A woman was killed in a truck-train crash just after 2 p.m. Wednesday in Morris.
The woman was the only occupant of a truck traveling west on Fifth Street, Highway 28, when it was struck by a BNSF train heading north, Morris Police Chief Ross Tiegs said.
The driver was taken to Stevens Community Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Her name was being withheld pending family notification and completion of the investigation.
The train stopped, blocking three roads through Morris. Police Sgt. Jason Reed said the train would remain in place while investigators with BNSF continued their inspection.
Responding to the scene were the Morris Police Department, Stevens County Sheriff's Office, Morris Fire Department and Stevens County Ambulance Service.
