Two women, baby die in head-on crash in southwest Minn.

REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. -- A southwest Minnesota woman and and a 1-year-old passenger, along with a Redwood Falls woman, died Saturday as a result of a head-on crash near Morton.

REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. - A southwest Minnesota woman and a 1-year-old passenger, along with a Redwood Falls woman, died Saturday as a result of a head-on crash near Morton.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Shaunna Kraft, 34, of Lakefield, was trying to pass another vehicle on a bridge on U.S. 71 about 5 p.m. Saturday when she collided head-on with a minivan driven by Teresa Linde, 41, of Redwood Falls. Both drivers died at the scene as did 1-year-old Brexlee B. Thammalong, who was riding in Kraft’s vehicle.

Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt, according to the State Patrol. It was not known if the child who died was restrained.

Two others in Kraft’s vehicle, Khampong Thammalong, 27, and Ryler Loren Ybarra, 7, suffered life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol. Thammalong was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, while Ybarra was taken to Children’s Hospital in St. Paul.
