Toddler airlifted to hospital after being run over by vehicle in central Minnesota

BRANDON, Minn. - A 23-month-old girl was run over by a driver maneuvering into a parking stall at Chippewa Park near Brandon, Minn., Saturday afternoon, Aug. 25, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office reported.

BRANDON, Minn. – A 23-month-old girl was run over by a driver maneuvering into a parking stall at Chippewa Park near Brandon, Minn., Saturday afternoon, Aug. 25, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The toddler, whose name was not immediately released by police, was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in the Twin Cities.

According to the sheriff’s office, she was walking across a parking lot with her siblings when she was struck by a slow-moving vehicle driven by Jason Borstad, 32, of Alexandria. Bystanders were able to pull her out from under the vehicle before first responders arrived to help.

The sheriff’s office said it’s still investigating the incident.
