Itasca Community College student receives scholarship

JACKSON, Miss - Zachary Mans, a Bemidji-area student at Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids, recently was named as one of 207 Phi Theta Kappa members named to the 2017 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar program and will receive a $1,000 scholarship. The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program helps new Phi Theta Kappa members defray educational expenses while enrolled in associate degree programs. Scholars are also encouraged to assume leadership roles by participating in society programs and are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, and leadership potential. Nearly 1,000 applications were received.

Oak Hills students receive scholarships

BEMIDJI-On Oct. 2, Oak Hills Christian College students received scholarships for the 2017-18 academic year. Among those presentations, seven students received scholarships from six local businesses. The six business scholarships were given by Amity Graphics, Focus Publishing, Ness Sealcoat Services, NLfx Professional, Paul Bunyan Communications, and Shine the Light and Your QFM.
