They both face charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture or deliver, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, Fischer said. They were released on bond Tuesday, Fischer said.

The traffic stop was made because the Chevrolet Avalanche was speeding in a 60 mph zone at mile marker 153, the patrol report said. The trooper making the stop then noticed indications of criminal activity, the report said.

A search of the vehicle revealed 59 pounds of marijuana, much of it individually bagged, along with several plants and $1,399 in cash, the patrol said.

The vehicle was also impounded, the report said.
