Police arrest 16-year-old after gunfire incident in Duluth

DULUTH - Duluth police arrested a 16-year-old boy Sunday night, April 28, in connection with an April 23 gunfire incident in the Lincoln Park neighborhood that left one person wounded.

The boy was arrested about 7:35 p.m. near 27th Avenue West and Michigan Street and taken to the Arrowhead Juvenile Center. He is expected to be charged with robbery and felony assault.

Police were called to a local hospital about 10:30 p.m. April 23 for a report of a female who was wounded in the 2100 block of West Third Street. The woman’s injuries were not life-threatening, and police have not determined whether they were the result of gunfire.

Law enforcement believe the victim and suspect “are known to each other.”
