Plow accident leaves one injured in central Minnesota

AVON, Minn. -- A crash involving a Minnesota Department of Transportation plow left a 29-year-old woman injured Saturday morning, March 31.A 2004 STLG Plow Truck driven by Mark Nienaber, 41, of Swanville, Minn. was westbound on I-94 near Avon, Minn.

AVON, Minn. -- A crash involving a Minnesota Department of Transportation plow left a 29-year-old woman injured Saturday morning, March 31.

A 2004 STLG Plow Truck driven by Mark Nienaber, 41, of Swanville, Minn. was westbound on I-94 near Avon, Minn. about 7:45 a.m. A 2006 Chevrolet Impala driven by Ashley Stevens, 29, of Ponsford, Minn., came up behind the MNDOT plow and lost control, resulting in a collision.

Stevens was transported to St. Cloud Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. She was wearing a seat belt.

Nienaber and Stevens’ passengers, Brett Stevens, 23, and Wesley Warren, 19, both of Ponsford, were not injured.

Road conditions were covered with snow and ice at the time of the crash.

Avon is about 16 miles west of St. Cloud, Minn.
