White Earth investigating symptoms of eye irritation after Ogema Days softball game

OGEMA — The White Earth pesticide program coordinator is investigating the cause of symptoms such as eye irritation following the Ogema Days softball game on Friday, Sept. 1, according to a on the White Earth Facebook page.

“If you experienced symptoms and have any unwashed items such as hats, sunglasses, shirts, etc. please put those items in a sealed plastic bag or garbage bag,” the post stated. “Keep these items in the freezer and contact Renee Keezer for sample collection. These items will not be returned.”

The post encouraged those with eye irritation to flush them with cool water for about a half hour and seek medical attention. Those who attended the softball game but are not experiencing symptoms should still contact Keezer.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
